Ingredients

    Caramelized Onions:

  • 1 large onion
  • 2 tbsp butter
  • 1 tbsp oil
  • 2 tsp sugar
  • 30 ml balsamic vinegar

    Burgers:

  • Burger buns
  • Ground beef
  • Lettuce leaves (preferably crispy, like Iceberg or similar)
  • A couple of tomatoes
  • Cheddar cheese
  • BBQ sauce
  • Cold-smoked pork bacon

Recipe

    Caramelized onions:
  1. Peel the onions, slice them, and sauté in butter until they soften and become translucent.
  2. Reduce the heat, sprinkle with sugar, and stir while cooking until the onions are coated.
  3. Increase the heat and add a splash of balsamic vinegar.
    Burgers:
  1. Fire up the KamadoClub grill, set up a two-zone cooking system with one half-moon. Once the grill heats up, cook with the lid open (200-250°C).
  2. Place the beef patties and bacon over direct heat, cook for 2-3 minutes, flip, and add cheese on top until the patty is cooked and the cheese melts. Meanwhile, toast the buns on the indirect heat side, where the half-moon is placed to accumulate heat and prevent the buns from burning quickly.
  3. Spread BBQ sauce on the toasted bun, add lettuce, place the cooked beef patty with melted cheese, and if you're especially hungry and strong, stack another patty on top. Garnish with thin slices of tomatoes and the prepared caramelized onions.
  4. Top it off with crispy bacon and finish by covering it with another bun, also spread with BBQ sauce.
